By request of a former Thai House roommate, I'm posting some pictures of the updates I've made since she's left. There's still much work to be done (like the backyard. Whoa, that's a work in progress if I ever saw one). And sorry I'm lacking in "before" pictures, but here is a before of the kitchen:
After.
Notice the cheery walls, coordinating wall decor, tulips from the tulip festival, new table/chairs, seat cushions from Anthropologie:
Notice the new grandfather clock...
repainted bookshelf, birdcage, Jesus picture, coffee table with doily, new matching floor lamps, plant bench, basket o'apples...,
to-be-painted canvas above the mantle, lavender from the lavender festival, fireplace screen, basket o'blankets, basket o'firewood...

basket o'piano music, tiffany lamp, upright grand piano.
The Family Room.
3 couches! An old broken coffee table, oh and we have an entertainment center and better TV now, but sorry, you can't see them. They're against the opposite wall. And the old dining room table is in the back for games/crafts/whatever.

New blue curtain to hide the lawn mower, central vac, other ugly stuff (there you can see a corner of the entertainment center)
Notice the watercolors from St. Petersburg, world map shower curtain...
and Scott Jarvie print of the Eiffel Tower:
Note the coordinating turquoise furniture, Lauren's old nightstand thing with antique knobs, home-made lamp (constructed from a bottle of Rite Aid lotion, home-made purple curtains on the sliding glass door.
antiqued dresser (drawer pull is at top of post), Jesus picture by the door, and the stacked furniture with hidden food storage! Looks like I might need to make a curtain to cover those bookbinding supplies too...

ReplyDeleteTheresa, you are AMAZING! Can I hire you for my future home? I seriously can't believe this is actually the Thai house. All of those years I spent bemoaning the makeshift 'fireplace' with the twinkly lights... You have serious talent. I am so impressed! I can't wait to see in live the next time I'm out there!
